My name is Ângela Machado and I travelled to Madeira with my husband and daughter during the week of the 21st to 25th of June. During our stay we went on the Curral das Freiras and West Tours. I would like to thank all your team for their kindness and excellent work, to Eduardo for his helpfulness during the Curral das Freiras Tour, to Marco for his excellent driving and to Ana, who is very sweet and wonderful guide and who showed outstanding kindness. My daughter Cláudia really liked her!! She was always very willing to help everyone and did her job in an exemplary manner!!

Have just returned from Funchal 18th June 2010 and would like to share
with you my experience of Strawberry World. We booked the West trip for
16 Euros. We all met at Strawberry World shop and we were on our way on
the dot of 9.00 am. The courier, Ana, was very knowledgeable, loved her
Country and gave us loads of information. She was softly spoken, very
approachable and friendly. The coach was very clean and comfortable with
air conditioning. Although the World Cup had just started there was not
a mention of football. We made our way through various places of
interest stopping at different points for 10 minutes or 20 minutes,
either for photos or refreshment. Our meal was around 1pm at a lovely
little village with a choice of restaurants/ snack bars to choose from,
all at a reasonable price (e.g veg soup 3 euros). We had 1 hour and a
half stop for lunch. Some more sightseeing after lunch and back to base
for 4.30 approx. The scenery was stunning and very picturesque. We
enjoyed our West trip so much we immediately booked for the East trip
and that was just as enjoyable. Plenty snack bars/ restaurants for lunch
also. Take a jacket with you as we found it much cooler up in the
mountains. From our experience we cannot praise Strawberry World enough.
Taking into account the cost of our snack it was still half the price
of the Thompsons trip. We had two fantastic days out and felt we hadnt
been ripped off. Strawberry World operate in other Countries too. Hope

I think Strawberry World deserves to be mentioned in the guidebook to Madeira written in Danish ("Turen går til Madeira"). Therefore, I am going to e-mail the publisher of the guidebook suggesting that Strawberry World is mentioned in the next edition - as a great alternative to renting a car.

We had a trip on a minibus with Alfredo, our driver, to the west coast of Madeira on Monday 28th December, for a full day. It was just great. The weather there has been dreadful and Alfredo drove fantastically carefully and talked to us about places we went to. He took us to some different places because the normal route had to be changed a bit because of the bad weather. He stopped to let us enjoy views and take photos. We had a nice lunch in Porto Moniz.

In this mail we are sending you our comments concerning the tours we made.
West Tour (Monday 7th December 2009)
With tour guide Anna and driver Marco we went to see the west from Madeira. The day started with some rain, but, as Anna told us, Madeira has a microclimate and luckily the weather changed. The highlight of the day for us was the visit to Porto Moniz. That day the waves were incredible high and we loved to see the power of nature when the waves reached the rocks.
As we drove back over the high lands it was very foggy so we could not see much, but that didn’t matter because Anna told us, during the whole tour, lots of interested things about the island and the inhabitants. Marco is a very good driver. We felt very comfortable in the bus.
East Tour (Friday 11th December 2009)
Again we met Anna and Marco to take us on this tour to the East part of Madeira. We were glad to meet them again. The night before it was raining cats and dogs, and in the beginning of the tour we needed our umbrella. We saw some lovely views and we visited the top of the Pico do Areiro, 1818 meters above see level. Although we could see some clouds the weather up there was great. Lucky for us Isa from Strawberry World had told us to take a jacket or a sweater with us, because upon the mountains was a cold wind. But what a magnificent view!
We have been travelling all over the world for many years now. But Anna was by far one of the best guides we ever met. Again Marco gave us a save feeling by driving us over the mountains.
We come from Holland and booked the above mentioned tours ourselves. You get good value for your money if you book a trip at Strawberry World in Funchal – Madeira.

We would just like to say how well organised your tours around the island were, im sure you don’t get a lot of feed back from clients but we were very impressed with the standard of the tours. From our recent visit we understand there is a lot of competition for these tours but through speaking to other people during our stay we also realised most people were not getting what they thought, where as with strawberry tours we found them to be exactly what we were told they were this is a credit to the organisation.
We were particularly impressed with Ana our tour guide so helpful and informative and also a special thank-you to one of your shop staff we cant remember if it was roger or Russell his name, but he was extremely polite and always a smiling face whenever we passed by which i have to say was rather frequently as we found he was only to willing to help us with restaurants best times to go places etc we realise this was not part of his job but would like to say thank-you for all the advice given a pleasure to talk to. Overall we were very impressed with the whole organisation and will definitely be recommending you to others.

Dear Mrs Sousa,
We would like to thank you for the excellent service we got from your company today. As e-mailed yesterday, we unfortunately docked late at the pier this morning and we hurried to get to the bus. Unfortunetely someone from the Oosterdam outside our ship misguided us so we ran to the entrance of the pier where they said you would be waiting. Of course, no bus from Strawberry was there so we we convinced we missed the tour being at the time 9:10. We sadly then decided to come back to the ship to get refreshed and find, if possible, another tout with you. Fortunately, one of the persons in charge of trafic at the entrance of the pier told us that your busses haden’t left the pier. We then hurried back to the Oosterdam to try to find the bus. While running back, we crossed your busses who we signaled to stop which they promptly did. Fortunetaly, we were picked up by your driver and the tour guide even if it was now quite late.
Had we been well guide when we got of the ship by the Oosterdam representative, we would have been late but not that late. I would like to thank you and your company for waiting so long for us and picking us up on your way out off the pier. The tour was very interesting and the bus quite confortable. Everything was just perfect.

Just got back to the UK last night from a really wonderful holiday in Madeira. We booked three tours and a levada walk with/through you at Strawberry World and wanted to say thank you and well done to all staff we dealt with. The tours were well put together, the lady in the office was friendly and helpful and our guide Anna and driver Alfredo were excellent. Please would you thank them, plus a special thank you to the lady at the office who helped when it nearly all went wrong last Wednesday. We had booked a levada walk through your company to Rabacal, due to be picked up at 09.00 but had not been picked up by 09.25. One phone call to your office and the lady (whose name I unfortunately did not get) said she would find out what had gone wrong. She put things right and rang me back to let me know what was happening and as a result, we had a terrific day. We will be recommending Strawberry World to anyone visiting Madeira.

We have spent the last two weeks on Madeira - our first time on the island.
We took a tour of the Nuns Valley, East and West with Srawberry World – Ana was our guide on the last two.
We just wanted to recommend her highly – Ana was the best tour guide we have ever had! She not only told us about the places we were visiting, but the history of the island, the culture, the cost of living, agriculture, tourism and day to day living – everything. We learned so much about the island and she made the tours wonderful.
The tours were excellent value for money, very interesting and the drivers deserve credit for how they manage on those mountain roads.
A very big thankyou to everyone at Strawberry World and especially Ana.

On monday of last week, we had a tour of the West, accompanied by a very knowledgeable and charming young woman, and a very competent and professional driver.Then last Thursday, toured the East in the company of Eduardo.Again, very professional and competent, both in his driving and narration.

We went on both East and West tours, both were excellent and our tour guide Ana, on both occasions was exceptional. We also went to Curral das Freiras(Nuns Valley) and the driver/guideEduardo was also very pleasant and informative. It has been our first visit to Madeira and we think it’s a wonderful island and very friendly and helpful people.

We have returned from a super holiday on the beautiful island of Madeira.
We
visited the West of the island last Wednesday and Nun’s Valley last
Sunday with your company. We found both tours excellent. The coaches
were extremely comfortable, the guide offered excellent commentary and
we felt the tours were good value for money.
We have toured the
island previously using excursions connected to our tour company in the
UK. We have considered these to be expensive and consequently wanted to
try another outlet. I am delighted to say we would recommend your tour
company to other holiday makers.
